Hey Friends,
As y’all know, my book is releasing on June 18 - Father’s Day. It’s called “Emerging From the Rubble” (read more about it HERE) and is a gift to my dad who passed away on March 5 after a 15-month battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.
I had a Zoom call with Bart Ehrman the other day and he was encouraging me about my work and asked how he might be able to help me. I was telling him about my book and the story behind it and he invited me to write a few blog entries about it for his blog to help spread the word.
What?!
Crazy.
And so today I found myself staring at a blank screen for what seemed like hours (I do that a lot) as I wondered how in the world my book of …
Wonderings.
Assumptions.
Explorations.
What If’s.
… Would mix with Bart’s blog that is all about history and scholarly material.
Yeah.
How exactly WILL that work?
I say rather forwardly in the book that I’m making a ton of assumptions about the Gospel of Matthew and that most of the book would probably make a legit scholar or historian cringe as the mystic in me sort of leaps from the pages … and so I’m trying to take that same approach to these blog posts.
How will it go over? We’ll see! But I wanted to share with you the very first rough (unedited!) draft of the first post that I sent to Bart earlier today.
Here you go.
