And thank YOU for being open to pondering a new idea even if it doesn’t become something you agree with l. Too often our responses are to fight or push back on ideas we initially disagree with as opposed to being curious. Your curiosity and willingness to ponder is inspiring. ❤️🙏🏻
I had to pause and think about your argument here. This is worth pondering. It's tempting to jump on the idea of flipping tables in the name of cause xyz. We live in a keyboard warrior/knee jerk reaction culture. But…as you point out- what was Jesus really teaching us? Thanks for offering this up.
I am new you you but will be following so thank you for being here. I love new ways to discuss and view scripture. This makes so much sense to me and such a new way for me to view that story. Thank you for your thoughts
Oh Tammy, thank you so much. I'm in a space on my journey where I'm trying to "hold" my "Progressive ideas" differently than I've held them in the past. Im finding the "energy" I'm giving off as a Progressive isn't much different than the energy I used to give off as a staunch far-right-Evangelical (just as judgemental, shaming, etc. but directed at a different candidate, group of people, etc.) and ... I just dont want to become the same energy I left behind. I want to evolve, grow, be different even if I'm not 100% what that looks like most days. This feels right to me and so Im "trying it on" in these confusing, divisive times.
Thank YOU for being here. Sending you much love on your journey!
Your words are helping me develop a plan that has grabbed me this weekend. Two different events cause me to mourn the divide in our community between groups of people. White skin is not trusted by our Black and Brown neighbors. I believe that the cause has a long history that justifies the distrust. But we cannot save our country until we heal these rifts.
Ooh. This is a brand new thought to me and one I'm not yet sure I agree with, but who knows. Thanks for giving me new things to ponder!
